A lesson in letting go

When we were approached by a Portuguese hotel chain to deliver addiction treatment from their gorgeous tiny hotel in rural Alentejo, we were both incredibly proud and excited.  To be able to deliver services in Portugal where so many of our clients have come from over the past 35years was a dream come true; and for them to approach us, we were thrilled to be recognised for our skills and professionalism in the world of addiction treatment.

Sadly, one year on we are now having to announce that we are no longer in partnership and delivering treatment at Monte Wellness Centre.

We are extremely proud of the work delivered at MONTE.  The feedback we received has been wonderful, testament to the hard work of both the Portuguese and English therapeutic and ancillary staff teams. No client or staff member was left unaffected by the tranquillity of the location and nurturing environment and the friendship and love of the team, described by many as “like a family”.

We want to thank profusely all who worked with us in the past year, the therapists, referrers, interventionists and not forgetting the clients, who participated in a programme of treatment. We’d like to thank all the Portuguese team for their love and friendship and for looking after us all so beautifully – we’re all dreadfully sad to be back to cooking and clearing up after ourselves.  A huge thank you for trying to help us learn Portuguese, and for your constant desire to show off your new English language skills.
