About Us

Established in 1983 and located in the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare near Bristol, Western Counselling is a residential treatment centre providing detoxification and rehabilitation for those suffering from drug and/or alcohol use, gambling, food disorders and co-dependency with additional free aftercare for ex-clients in recovery.

Registered with CQC (Care Quality Commission) for male and female clients aged 17-64, Western Counselling is an active member of UKRG – United Kingdom Recovery Group, compliant with North Somerset Accreditation scheme and a founder member of North Somerset Recovery Network (NSRN).

Every stage of recovery is focused on the individual, and personal needs are met with a tailored treatment programme. Our counsellors have a wide breadth of experience and knowledge between them, with many in recovery from addiction themselves. They will support your recovery through a prescribed detoxification programme, group therapy, one to one counselling and workshops, combined with holistic therapies and a programme of life and social skills, voluntary work and training opportunities.
